What Inspired Us To Write This eBook?

I grew up in California’s San Joaquin Valley, amidst miles and miles of farmland. Fruits and vegetables were central to our family meals. Personal health challenges led me to finding balance and well-being in nature. This brought a deep understanding that how my food is grown and what I choose to eat greatly impacts my health and my life. It took a while for me to see a bigger picture of how farming methods and food processing impacts nature, and therefore, the well-being of all life on this planet. I love helping others make that connection, informing their own choices about what nourishes them best, and exploring how we can nourish ourselves in harmony with the natural world.
              – Claire Mandeville, TheMandevillePlan.com
Over the years I’ve practiced eating only plant-based food. Then I moved to eating as much organically grown food as possible. As I became more interested in plants and learning to identify them, I also became more interested in how to use them as personal medicine. That evolved into wanting to know which of these plants might be foraged for food. When Claire and I explored areas of common interest and passion, we concluded that writing a book of experiences for people, which would help them experience nature as well as learn about their food, would be the perfect way to integrate our common interests and share them with other people.
